Gemstone Jewelry to Accent your Spring and Summer Fashions

amethyst necklaceAn earlier blog post talked about the Pantone color palette for Spring 2016. I’m going to highlight several of the color choices of jewelry to accent your spring fashion wardrobe. In addition to the jewelry styles already on the website, I have a variety of beautiful stones and beads to create a variety of custom designs for Spring and Summer just for you.

The Spring palette included soft pink and blue, a coffee colored hue, pearly white, a soft purple, and also a soft green. Rose quartz, aqua chalcedony, smoky quartz, pearls, yellow quartz, labradorite and amethyst are some of the gemstones that would be terrific accents for those fashion shades.

Quartz – very hard – perfect for jewelry. The clear stone is known as Rock crystal. Quartz is widely found in the US, madagascar, Brazil

Rose Quartz – widely used in jewelry and ornamental objects. The stone gets its color from titaniumpink pearl and rose quartz necklace

Smoky Quartz – a medium to dark brown form of quartz. The coloring is due to gamma rays – either natural or artificial. Found in US, Madagascar, Brazil, and the Ukraine

Lemon Quartz – produced by heat treating amethyst. The presence of iron is responsible for the color

Amethyst quartz – layered or striped with milky quartz, this form occurs with amethyst. It’s used for beads, cabochons, and a variety of ornamental objects

Amethyst – the most valuable form of quartz

aqua chalcedony necklaceChalcedony – Long ago, I fell in love with the luminosity of aqua chalcedony – that glorious inner glow. Bluish or gray in its natural state, chalcedony is a cryptocrystalline quartz. It is porous and can be dyed a variety of colors

Pearls – Products of bivalve mollusks (oysters) built up from mother of pearl (nacre) which gives the typical pearly lustrous finish

Labradorite necklaceLabradorite– a form of feldspar. This stone has a metallic “shiller” or labradorescence in blue, green and sometimes red flashes that arise from interference effects of light interacting with defects in the crystal lattice. labradorite is widely used for jewelry and ornamental ornaments

Pearl and white jewelry are in this summer. There are several colors of quartz that I have found in the market but smoky is my favorite. The article is quite informative.
