Amapola Gallery’s October Featured Artist exhibit

 “The Art of the Matter” is October’s Featured Artist exhibit at Amapola Gallery, showcasing Amapola member artists Diana Kirkpatrick and Gwen Peterson.  The artists employ sterling, stones and sundry silkscreens to present “The Art of the Matter,” Amapola Gallery’s Featured Artists exhibit for October.

Gwen Peterson creates serigraphs with geometric patterns of southwest scapes in brilliant hues, and more. While this show features larger works, there will be critters in the corners, including her celebrated series of Siamese cats.

Diana Kirkpatrick crafts art to wear from gemstones and sterling, incorporating organic textures and elements from nature into her distinctive work. Using a variety of techniques and a vast array of stones she hand-crafts one of a kind earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings, continually creating exciting new designs.

Treat yourselves to conversation with the artists at their reception, Friday, October 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. You might even make a purchase, and there’s nothing the matter with that.

“The Art of the Matter” runs through October at Amapola artists’ co-op Gallery, on the Plaza in Old Town at 205 Romero N.W. Open 10 to 5 daily.
