Even with the cold weather we’ve been having, the azaleas have been getting ready to bloom. However, after last night’s freezing conditions, I’m sure that the blossoms that were about to open have been frozen solid.
There was some ice on areas of standing water here on Gainesville, FL this morning (and yesterday, too). I don’t know how far south the cold extends, but I’m concerned about the potential for crop damage in the middle areas of the state. Growers have been spraying water on tender crops to form ice to protect the plants from severe freezing.
